Marina believes that local governments are only as powerful as their ability to help their constituents. That’s why she is running on a platform of government accountability, transparency, and accessibility. For our city council to effect meaningful change, everyone must be able to come to city hall or to their City Council's field office. Everyone needs to understand the city’s correspondences and emergency warnings in whatever language or visual medium they understand. And when they have a problem, they need a listening ear that will hear them, understand them, and act quickly to help them. Marina will be that listening ear for District 7. Under her leadership, she will improve this office's communication with constituents and increase accountability and transparency as constituent concerns are handled.
District 7 is a community that's full of life and culture, so it deserves top-notch infrastructure to match. For too long our sidewalks have crumbled while our streets, such as the Bandera corridor, have gone unattended. But that all changes once Marina gets elected. She will deliver real infrastructure development for the people of this district. With your vote, she can fix the drainage issues, build new greenways and parks, and create the types of roads and sidewalks that will attract new businesses and bring families here to stay.
When District 7 grows, it should grow for all of us. Big companies and developers should feel empowered to do business in our community, but their presence should empower our community in return. As a professional who’s worked in both the Public and Private sectors, Marina knows how to build and navigate the relationships that will bring sustainable economic development to our district. With her leadership, we will create more jobs, strengthen the backbone of our community, and grow the economy for everyone.
